We are looking for both sponsors and media coverage of our participation in this event. Also, we would appreciate the help of mentors who actively participate with our team during the six-week design and building process and, later, at the Canadian Regional Competition.
Sponsors: If you are willing to become involved with our school team in FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology), we would be pleased to have your participation. Depending upon your level of donation, we will ensure that you are recognised as an active participant.
$500 level Sponsor will have the name of their business included in the FIRST competition brochures.
$1000 level Sponsor will have their logo on our team shirts as well as the benefits of the $500 sponsors.
$5000 level Corporate Sponsor will have their logo on our robot, our team buttons
and paraphernalia, as well as the benefits of the $500 and $1000 sponsors.
Media companies: We would be offering you coverage of our robot during our building season but ask that no pictures be released until our shipping date of Friday February 19th, 2002, as we do not wish to release our secrets. Afterwards, please feel free to publish any pictures as well as coverage of the competition itself on Thursday April 4th, Friday April 5th, and Saturday April 6th, 2002 at the Hershey Centre in Mississauga.
Mentors: For company employees, engineers, electricians, parents, etc, we would appreciate your time and expertise in designing and building our robot, as well as offers of transportation to other schools and events.
FIRST has been running this competition for over 10 years in the US and does so in a very professional manner. It is very exciting that this year, for the first time, there will be a Canadian regional. We look forward to your participation. Our school contact person is Tim Fisher at 416-393-9510, ext. 20043.
